I was watching MTV the other day, and on the end of their movie show they had a preview of Being John Malkovich, which looks seriously wierd! Anyway, it transpires that the director is one
Spike Jonze, for whom this is a ‘Big Movie’ directing debut. Before this, he directed pop videos. It is more accurate to say he is a pop video guru - of the videos listed, he has directed at least 3 or 4 of my all-time favourites: Beastie Boys’ Sabotage, Bjork’s It’s Oh So Quiet, Fat Boy Slim’s Praise You, Daft Punk’s Da Funk. I am really looking forward to this movie!(*) Just as a bonus, it stars John Cusack.

(*) I live in the green and pleasant lands of Slough, UK, where movies appear about 3-6 months after the US releases. It’s often possible to buy US DVD releases of current UK movies… bleh.
