After looking for one a while ago, I found almost what I was looking for in
this nice breakdown of how much of the sticker-price of a CD goes to the band. What I really wanted was the wacky pie chart that RIAA wheeled out last time there were cartel allegations, which shows what they do with their 85%. Since the band pays a lot of the promotion costs, and repays recording costs to the record company, you have to wonder.
